Interesting Things to do in WoW in your Spare Time
The World of Warcraft is a rich and detailed MMORPG which offers a wide selection of different objectives for players depending on what interests them. When you are stuck for things to do in WoW it can often seem like there is nothing you haven’t done already but this is far form the case. There is always something to do in WoW once you know about it and its good fun to try to achieve some of these more interesting and unique game aspects. So when you are not raiding or levelling a character check out some of these fun things to do in WoW when you’re bored:
Complete some in-game Achievements
If you press the “Y” key in game you will view an achievement panel for your current character. Achievements are tasks you have to complete within WoW to earn yourself special rewards. These rewards vary from simple Achievement Points to a special character title, vanity pet, mount or tabard. These Achievement Points distinguish your character above others and the titles can often be the envy of other players. Some interesting Achievements include:
- Explore all areas in WoW revealing them on your map – Rewards you with the title “The Explorer” and a unique Tabard.
- Collect 50 unique vanity pets – Rewards you with the vanity pet “Stinker” a cute little skunk.
- Collect 50 unique mounts – Rewards you with an “Albino Drake” epic flying mount.
Gain Exalted with Unique Factions
If you gain exalted with certain factions you will not only gain achievement points but you will also have access to the faction quartermaster. Each faction quartermaster offers unique items for sale for that faction. Many factions have a variety of mounts and special items you can purchase once you gain exalted status with them. For example, if you gain exalted with the “Wintersaber Trainers” faction you will be able to buy the unique “Winterspring Frostsaber” mount.
Farming Rare Items
There are certain items within WoW that may be particularly difficult to obtain that some WoW players would like to add to their collection. For example, in Storm Peaks there is a rare dragon that spawns called the “Time-Lost Poto Drake”. It shares it’s spawn rate with two other rare Northrend mobs and can be found moving up and down the “Bor’s Breath” area a few feet from the ground. If you successfully find and kill this mob it has a 100% drop chance for the “Time-Lost Poto Drake” epic flying mount. It can however, be very difficult to find and it is a highly competitive mount to obtain.
Trading and Auctions
In your spare time you may wish to consider earning extra gold through trading or the auction house to help you save up for benefits such as the Epic Flying skill or a certain expensive item or piece of gear. You can do this in numerous ways such as farming materials through gathering professions or farming elementals for eternals and then selling them on the auction house. You can also level your crafting professions to maximum and make epic level 80 gear to sell in trade or on the auction house for a profit. In addition to this you can also farm areas for unique pets or items to sell on or collect Champion’s Seals from the Argent Tournament Grounds and sell the unique pets on offer there to others. Find out what people need regularly and work out how you can make it or obtain it cheaply to sell on.
Complete Dailies
There are a few dailies you should complete every day if you can for extra rewards and benefits such as:
- Dalaran Cooking Daily – Rewards include unique cooking recipes, reputation with the Kirin Tor faction, gold or vendor items, cooking awards, Northrend Spices or the Chef’s Hat item and achievement.
