Pilgrim’s Bounty Holiday in WoW
The Pilgrims Bounty holiday brings with it a small selection of bonuses your character is sure to want to pickup whatever level your character is at the moment. Firstly, one of the most interesting aspects of this holiday within the World of Warcraf t is that you can use it to gain cooking skills with your character. So if you have struggled in the past to get your cooking skill beyond 300 as so many people do, visit one of the Pilgrim’s Bounty locations and cook up some of their delicious food stuffs. The pilgrim’s bounty festival vendor can provide you with a Bountiful Cookbook which contains several unique holiday recipes each with their own difficulty in cooking level. However, if you don’t quite have the skill to learn one of the recipes do not worry, Blizzard have designed them to be easily obtainable by simply cooking up whatever treats you can make already until you are the right skill level for the next ones.
The food you can cook up during this holiday are as follows:
Sweet Potatoes
Made with Teldrassil Potatoes found at the Darnassus Pilgrim’s Bounty Vendor and a selection of cooking materials found at any Pilgrim’s Bounty Vendor.
Cranberry Chutney
Made with Cranberries found at the Ironforge Pilgrim’s Bounty Vendor and a selection of cooking materials found at any Pilgrim’s Bounty Vendor.
Slow Roasted Turkey
Made with Wild Turkey which can be obtained by killing and looting Wild Turkey critters in Elwynn Forest or just outside Brill.
Pumpkin Pie
Made with Pumpkin found at the Stormwind Pilgrim’s Bounty Vendor and a selection of cooking materials found at any Pilgrim’s Bounty Vendor.
Spice Bread Stuffing
Made by creating Spice Bread from 1 x Mild Spices and 1 x Flour which can be found at almost any cooking vendor. Then Combine the Spice bread with Autumnal Herbs found at any Pilgrim’s Bounty Vendor to create Spice Bread Stuffing.
The Pilgrim’s Bounty vendors also supply you with an additional item called a Bountiful Basket which can be used to combine one of each of these foods into a Bountiful Feast. These bountiful feasts are the same as the usual Fish Feasts used for raids and heroic instances so can be very useful over the festival period to cut down on raiding costs. They have a duration of 7 days so make sure you log into the World of Warcraft on the last day of the festival to cook up enough to last you the coming week.
Aside from food and cooking skills the Pilgrim’s Bounty festival also offers participants a free vanity pet called “Plump Turkey” and a character title “The Pilgrim”. In order to achieve this you will need to complete all the achievements listed in the “World Events” > “Pilgrim’s Bounty” tab in your achievement panel. This includes completing all the quests the pilgrim’s bounty festival has to offer in each of the major cities.
Once you have completed each quest you will be given a choice of quest rewards:
- Pilgrim’s Hat
- Pilgrim’s Attire
- Pilgrim’s Robe
- Pilgrim’s Dress
- Pilgrim’s Boots
- Turkey Shooter
You will need 1 x Pilgrim’s Hat, 1 x Pilgrims Dress/Robe/Attire and 8 x Turkey Shooter in order to complete all the achievements for this festival. You will not need the Pilgrim’s Boots item for this so it is best to leave this quest reward until last. It takes only two days to complete enough quests for all these items for your Pilgrim’s Bounty Achievement and doing these quests will earn you a few achievements along the way.
While you are completing the quests you will need to jump around various different major cities frequently to pick up supplies from each of the Pilgrim’s Bounty vendors and to hand in previous quests. It’s a good idea to get a friend with a mage character to spend a few minutes travelling around with you to help you do these quests and dailies if your character is not a mage itself. While you are visiting each of your major cities top hand in quests and pick up quests and items, make sure you gain the Spirit of Sharing buff on a table while you are there. You do not actually need multiple players at each table to complete this, simply stack up 5 of your chair’s particular food and then move on to the next chair you need until you have all five foods stacked five times which will give you the buff. Doing this in each of the major cities will earn you an achievement towards your final goal.
The most difficult achievement to obtain is the “Turkinator” where you will need to kill Wild Turkey quickly enough to gain the Turkinator achievement. Essentiallay speaking this means you will need to kill 40 turkeys in 20 minutes allowing 30 seconds maximum between turkey kills or your buff will disappear. A good idea is to do this at a quiet time when not many other people are killing turkeys and to gain the buff from the “Tracker Snacks” food which will show you critters on your map and help you move quickly in the right direction.
You may also need a helping hand with the “Terrokar Turkey Time!” achievement where you will need to go to the “Sethekk Halls” dungeon in Terrokar Forest in the Outlands and kill the last boss wearing a Pilgrim’s Hat and a Pilgrim’s Robe/Dress/Attire. If you are level 80+ this shouldn’t be too much of an issue and it can be completed in normal mode, however if not ask your friends to come along with you for this achievement.
If you are not at level 80, and you play the Horde, Joana's Guide will teach you the fastest possible way to get there. And for the Alliance, Zygor's Guides have you covered.
